Roulette Bets

Roulette is a game of probabilities. In this game, players are free to bet on one of the following: either even or odd number, red or black color, and single or multiple numbers. The game involves spinning a wheel in a given direction and the ball in the opposite direction on a tilted circular track. The ball runs around and within the circumference of the wheel for a while and then loses the momentum and fall.

It can fall into any of the thirty seven or thirty eight numbered or coloured pockets on the wheel. If the ball falls in the pocket that you had placed a bet on, then you are declared a winner, otherwise you lose. A standard European roulette has thirty seven pockets while a standard American roulette has thirty eight pockets.

In a fairly played game, the probability of each number or colour coming out is equal. A bet on a single number has less probability of coming out than a bet on a range of numbers. Therefore the lesser the probability of a bet the higher the payout. There are different types of roulette bets. A standard roulette has two major types of bets; inside bets and outside bets.

Roulette Bets – The Cheat Sheet

#1 Straight Bet. Do you have a lucky number? This is for you. The Straight bet is when you bet on any individual number. Though this is the hardest to predict, it also has the largest payout available to win in Roulette.

#2 Split Bet. The Split Bet is the when you place a bet on the line connecting any two numbers vertically or horizontally. If either of the two numbers that you bet on comes up, you win.

#3 Street Bet. The Street bet is a bet consisting of three numbers. For example if you were to place a bet on the outside line of the number 13, you would be betting on the three numbers in that row, so if 13,14 or 15 lands than you win.

#4 Five Number Bet. Only in American Roulette can this bet be placed and you would be betting on 1, 2, 3, zero or double zero to land. You place your bet on the outside line connecting 1 and the single zero.

#5 Corner Bet. By placing your bet in the middle of any four numbers, you would be placing a corner bet. So if you were to place your chip where the edges of the numbers 25, 26, 28, and 29 meet you would win if any of the four numbers land.

#6 Line Bet. Place your bet in between any two numbers on the outside of the table, ie. 19 and 22 than you would be betting on 19, 20 and 21 as well as 22, 23 and 24.

#7 Dozens Bet. Along the outside of the board you will see spots marked 1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3rd 12. The 1st covers 1-12 the 2nd covers 13-24 and the 3rd covers 25-36.

#8 Column Bet. Similar to the Dozens Bet, you place your chip underneath the 34, 35 or 36. By placing under the 35 you bet on all numbers in column above 35
