The D’Alembert Roulette Betting system is a negative progression system dating back to the 1700s. The premise behind this system is that by betting on even money bets which offer almost a 50-50 chance to win that over a period of time there should be an equal number of wins and losses, and after a winning spin of the wheel then the next spin should be losing one right?

First you start by establishing a betting amount somewhere between the table minimum and maximum therefore allowing you to decrease and increase your betting amount as needed. Let’s say you were to make a starting bet of $10 on any even money bet (black or red, high or low etc.) if you were to win on the first spin of the wheel than you would again bet on the same even money bet the next time but this time you would take one unit of off original starting bet so for our example we would be betting $9.

But on the flip side let’s say that you were to lose the first bet than on the second bet you would increase your original starting bet and your next bet would now be $11. Well in theory this system sounds great except for a few major flaws. The first being that as you all know that every spin of the Roulette wheel is completely independent of the last spin and therefore there really is no way of knowing exactly which well come up on the next spin, the second flaw being the house edge with addition of the Zero slot ( and in American the Double Zero slot) which make the odds less than 50-50.

Although flawed this system does have a few pros one being that it’s a slow progression system in regards to betting amounts which allow you stay to within the tables limits and your own betting limits the second being that with it being a slow progression system, it gives you the ability to walk away from the table before accumulating a large amount of total losses.

The Base Two Betting System is, while very easy to use, a fairly bad betting system for Roulette or for any other game for that matter.

You start by picking two dollar amounts you’re comfortable with, one bet amount being larger than the other and only pick two, hence the name base two and place bets on only even money bets.

This system is designed to capitalize on hot streaks and cut down on losses during cold ones. The low bet amount being used after losing bets and the high being used after a winning one.

For this example let’s use a $5 for our low and a $20 for our high. Start by placing a your low bet of $5 on any even money bet, if you were to win on the first spin than your next bet would be the high bet of $20 but if you were to lose than you would continue to bet $5 until you win one.

So let’s say the sequence of spins was win, win, lose, win than the amount you would bet would look like this $5, $20, $20, $5, $20 this looks great right, so what’s the catch you might ask.

Well as with all casino games there is no sure thing and with even money bets being basically a 50-50 shot of winning your bankroll would be chewed up faster than a plate of hot dogs in front of Joey Chesnutt.

So with the 50-50 chance let’s say you do go win, lose, win, lose, win, and lose than your bankroll would look like this after one hand we are up $5 but then it quickly goes south; Lose = -$15, win = -$10, lose = -$30, win = -$25, lose = -$45 etc. With this system be prepared for some MAJOR losses but a nice long hot streak could grab you some serious cash.

This system has been around for years with rookie and veteran Roulette players using it due to the simplicity and overall fun.

The goal of the system is to win a predetermined amount of money. For The Labouchre System you’ll need a pen and paper and the ability to do basic math.

Start by determining what you would ultimately like to win. For this example let’s say that you want to win $20. Create a line of numbers that equal twenty for example: 2, 1, 1, 2, 5, 3, 5, 1.

It doesn’t matter which numbers you choose, the important part is that the numbers, when added together equal what you want to win, and that there are an even number of numbers in the line.

On the first spin of the wheel place you will add the first and last numbers from your line together so 2+1=3 and place a $3 bet on any even money bet.

If you win you cross off the numbers used and on the next spin you would continue down the line adding the first and last numbers together so now our line would look like this: 1, 1, 2, 5, 3, 5 so our next bet would be 1+5=6.

But if you were to lose the first spin you would add the amount you bet and lost to the end of the line so it would look like this: 1, 1, 2, 5, 3, 5, and 3 making your next bet 1+3=4.

To complete the Labouchre System you would have to cross off all numbers on your list, thus winning your predetermined amount. The idea behind this system is that on a winning bet you cross off two numbers from our line of numbers while a losing bet only adds one number to the line and the end total of your line when added together will always be you original winning goal amount minus previously won spins.

The theory of it is while taking 2 numbers away on a win and adding 1 number for a lose the player only has to win 33% of the time to cross off all numbers on the list, so by betting even money bets with a 47% success rate it’s a “guaranteed winning” system.

Of course, it’s not a guaranteed winning system by any means; but it is a fun system, and one that can really spice up the game of Roulette. A lot more fun than flat-betting, that’s for sure!

In this article I’m going to explain to you the many different ways you can bet in Roulette and with so many possibilities you’ll see why it’s such a great game that never grows tiresome.

#1 Straight Bet.

Do you have a lucky number? This is for you. The Straight bet is when you bet on any individual number. Though this is the hardest to predict, it also has the largest payout available to win in Roulette.

#2 Split Bet.

The Split Bet is the when you place a bet on the line connecting any two numbers vertically or horizontally. If either of the two numbers that you bet on comes up, you win.

#3 Street Bet.

The Street bet is a bet consisting of three numbers. For example if you were to place a bet on the outside line of the number 13, you would be betting on the three numbers in that row, so if 13,14 or 15 lands than you win.

#4 Five Number Bet.

Only in American Roulette can this bet be placed and you would be betting on 1, 2, 3, zero or double zero to land. You place your bet on the outside line connecting 1 and the single zero.

#5 Corner Bet.

By placing your bet in the middle of any four numbers, you would be placing a corner bet. So if you were to place your chip where the edges of the numbers 25, 26, 28, and 29 meet you would win if any of the four numbers land.

#6 Line Bet.

Place your bet in between any two numbers on the outside of the table, ie. 19 and 22 than you would be betting on 19, 20 and 21 as well as 22, 23 and 24.

#7 Dozens Bet.

Along the outside of the board you will see spots marked 1st 12, 2nd 12 and 3rd 12. The 1st covers 1-12 the 2nd covers 13-24 and the 3rd covers 25-36.

#8 Column Bet.

Similar to the Dozens Bet, you place your chip underneath the 34, 35 or 36. By placing under the 35 you bet on all numbers in column above 35

Even Money Bets:

#9 Red or Black Bet.

You’re betting on which color you think will come up.

#10 Even or Odd Bet.

Will it be an Even or Odd Number?

#11 High Low Bet.

Cuts board in half with low being 1-18 and high being 19-36

Odds are the likelihood of something happening and in this case, it’s how often a number will come up against how often you will win. Payout is for every dollar you bet how much you will win in return.

Depending on the bet you place the payout can change dramatically and you should understand the odds before grabbing a seat for a session of Roulette, and that’s what we are going to learn here.

First and foremost you must know the main difference between American Roulette and European Roulette is the added double zero for the American version and this changes the odds because instead of 1-36 and single zero for a total of 37 possibilities in the European version you have 1-36 single zero and double zero for 38 possibilities in the American game.

European Roulette Odds

Straight Bet = 36 to 1 winning bet pays = 35 to 1
Split Bet = 17.5 to 1 winning bet pays = 17 to 1
Street Bet = 11.33 to 1 winning bet pays = 11 to 1
Corner Bet = 8.25 to 1 winning bet pays = 8 to 1
Line Bet = 5.17 to 1 winning bet pays = 5 to 1
Dozens Bet = 2.08 to 1 winning bet pays = 2 to 1
Columns Bet = 2.08 to 1 winning bet pays = 2 to 1
Even/Odd = 1.01 to 1 winning bet pays = 1 to 1
Black/Red = 1.01 to 1 winning bet pays = 1 to 1
High/Low = 1.01 to 1 winning bet pays = 1 to 1

American Roulette Odds

Straight Bet = 37 to 1 winning bet pays = 35 to 1
Split Bet = 18 to 1 winning bet pays = 17 to 1
Street Bet = 11.66 to 1 winning bet pays = 11 to 1
Corner Bet = 8.5 to 1 winning bet pays = 8 to 1
Line Bet = 5.33 to 1 winning bet pays = 5 to 1
Five Number Bet = 6.6 to 1 winning bet pays = 6 to 1
Dozens Bet = 2.167 to 1 winning bet pays = 2 to 1
Columns Bet = 2.167 to 1 winning bet pays = 2 to 1
Even/Odd = 1.11 to 1 winning bet pays = 1 to 1
Black/Red = 1.11 to 1 winning bet pays = 1 to 1
High/Low = 1.11 to 1 winning bet pays = 1 to 1

Sometime in the 1950s, a man by the name of, you guessed it, Oscar made a living of off this betting system, using it in both Roulette and Craps on even money bets.

If you want to try this system we recommend The Lucky Red Casino, which offers all the basic Roulette games in a flash format so you can try it with ease.

This system became popular in the 1960s when Oscar had a conversation with a journalist, Allan Wilson, who wrote a story about it based on a conversation he had with Oscar. It’s a conservative approach to playing Roulette, with not much excitement and, as the name implies, will take some time to grind out a large profit.

Oscars Grind can be a great system for beginners and seasoned vets alike due to its low risk/low reward idea.

The premise is simple, win one unit and the cycle is over so you start again. You start by placing a single unit, and only a single unit (this is important), on any even money bet.

Your goal is to win one single unit so if you win after the first spin the cycle is over, but is you lose you continue to bet a single unit until you win. After winning a spin, add a single unit to original bet and continue with this sequence until you profit by one unit.

For Example:
Spin #1: Bet 1 Lose, Profit =-1
Spin #2 Bet 1 Lose, Profit = -2
Spin #3 Bet 1 Lose, Profit = -3
Spin #4 Bet 1 Win, Profit = -2
Spin #5 Bet 2 Lose, Profit = -4
Spin #6 Bet 2 Win, Profit = -2
Spin #7 Bet 3 Win, Profit = +1

And at this point with you achieving your goal of winning a single unit the cycle is complete and you would start over again by betting a single unit. While using this system it says that you should add one unit to your bet after every win and in some situations that would put you over your goal of winning one single unit so you will have to adjust accordingly so that you never go over +1.

This system is great for the patient gambler who isn’t trying to make a fortune, just a slow and steady profit, and with some practice you will see how easy this is.

For Roulette players looking for a rush or thrill, this system isn’t for you. For people looking to grind out a win, give The Oscar Grind Betting system a go.

Omni Casino is one of the longest running online casinos, and has been online for over 13 years.

It’s amazing to think of the changes that have occurred at Omni Casino since they were first online.

So many new games, a more improved VIP Program, and all new and huge Progressive Jackpots.

What’s even more impressive is the amount of Roulette variations at Omni casino. See the list of roulette games below!

American Roulette at Omni Casino:

The classic American Roulette game is of course available at Omni Casino. It has three different variations of betting limits, as you get to choose your table limits. You can play for as little as ten cents, or as high as $1,000 per spin.

One thing I really like about American Roulette at Omni Casino is how fast it is, plus it has a nice “old school” feel to it. It’s very simple to play, and the software is great and responsive. You can try out American Roulette for free at Omni Casino by clicking here.

Premium American Roulette at Omni Casino:

The rules of Premium American Roulette are the same as American Roulette: the difference is in the visiuals.

This is a much more enticing game, with more professional dealer voices and a whole different graphical look to it. If you found the classical version of American Roulette bland then you’ll love Premium American Roulette, with all it’s bells and whistles. It’s amazing how cosmetic changes can really increase your fun factor while playing a game.

The minimum table limit is $1.

Omni Casino also offers a Premium European Roulette variation.

French Roulette at Omni Casino:

French Roulette offers all the typical bets exclusive to the French Roulette game, with table and betting limits of $0.10 to $1000.

Omni Casino also offers a Premium French Roulette version with a lot better experience in the graphics department. Click here to try that.

3D Roulette at Omni Casino:

If you’re looking for a whole new perspective on online roulette, then you have to play 3D Roulette. This is just FANTASTIC with a whole new view on the game of Roulette, and the Roulette wheel is the focus of the game.

You also don’t need any 3D Glasses to play 3D Roulette, so get on over to Omni Casino and try this delightful game today!

Win A Day Casino is the online roulette site that breaks the mold.

You’ve heard the saying *If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it*.

Well WinADay ignored this, and created a Roulette game that you HAVE to play.

5 games of Roulette at ONCE. Need I say more?

Easily our favourite Roulette game, and most popular Roulette Casino.

Roulette 5 At Win A Day Casino

This is a fantastic twist on the original American Roulette game. It plays just like American Roulette, however with a few really sick variations that really make Roulette more fun to play. The first change is that you play FIVE wheels instead of one, which makes for a more exciting Roulette game. There’s also a surrender rule at Roulette 5, which really helps your advantage over the house.

Honestly I’ve seen lot’s of twists in my time with Roulette, but Roulette 5 is a game I can’t help but go back to. Try it Today.

La Roulette at Win A Day Casino:

La Roulette has a more old school interface, and is a twist on European Roulette. It is set up like Roulette 5 although doesn’t have the surrender option – however just like Roulette 5, you get to play with 5 wheels rather than one. Highly recommended for any European Roulette fans out there.

Overall if you are looking for a much different experience at Roulette, you absolutely HAVE to try out Win A Day Casino.
